2020 has Finally Come to an End

Let us face it, 2020 has been a very strange year. Nothing has been like it used to be and for many people it has been a very hard year.

The Global Pandemic

Covid-19 hit the entire planet in 2020. In fact, for some part of the world it already started in 2019 (That is after all why it is called Covid-19). I think it has changed the life for most people around the world. Many people have lost their job and for other they have lost their long-life business they have struggled for decades to build. Some people paid the ultimate price and are no longer among us to enter the new year of 2021. I am sure that 2020 is a year we will remember for many years to come. They year where we had to stay at home and very many of the thing we love to do and sometimes take for granted was canceled.

Skype, Teams and Zoom

2020 was also the year where we pushing the technology for online meetings. Skype, Teams, Zoom and Google Meetings have been something we all have had to learn to use in a way we have never dreamed about. In fact, it has been amazing to see how creative people can be when they are forced to change their daily routines. Travel activities has been very limited but it seems like people have found ways to do business anyway.

My personally take on 2020

For me 2020 has also been a strange year, but I think I have managed well compared to many other doing this year. I still have my job, and my family is healthy and safe. I only knew very few that have had corona and they have all made it. The vaccine has just started slowly to be rolled out to the first people in Denmark in late December. I really how that the world will be in a better place in a couple of months from now.

Techwork became TechThatWorks

2020 was also the year where I finally got myself a new domain name for this blog. It is something that I have thought about for years, but now I felt it was the right time for the move. After having searched for some time I ended up buying techthatworks.net as my new domain name for this blog. I was actually going for a .com domain, but it was very hard to find an available one because I still wanted the words Tech and Work to be included in the new domain name. I am very happy with my new .net domain. My old domain was a .dk (Danish) and even that I have been written all my post in English from the beginning, it was very hard to get international traffic to my blog. It has been a lot easier to drive traffic to the new domain name.

Final thoughts

I am sure that 2020 is a year we will all remember for a very long time. The pandemic is still around us all, but I really hope that in a few months we will be in a better place all around the world. I really hope we will somehow get our normal life back in the new year to come.
